We require a Paddling Event Programmer to held lead our new and innovative programming initiatives this season.
This is a 2020 Canada Summer Grant position therefore we are accepting applicants under 30 years old and whom are enrolled in kinesiology, sport admin, recreation management, recreation and community development, health promotion, education or a related field.
Paddling and lifeguarding experience is an asset.

Paddling Events Assistant
We require a Paddling Event Assistant to assist our new and innovative programming initiatives this season, manage the boathouse and execute our COVID-19 policies and procedures for this season.
This is a 2020 Canada Summer Grant position therefore we are accepting applicants enrolled in high school or whom are enrolled in kinesiology, sport admin, recreation management, recreation and community development, health promotion, education or a related field. As part of Canoe Kayak Saskatchewan (CKS), the Regina Marathon Canoe Club (RMCC) is a local not for profit community group with a goal of promoting personal excellence in long distance marathon paddling. RMCC offers fitness, marathon and long-distance paddling programs in the Regina and Area Community. We train and develop competitive and recreational coaches, youths and adults for competitive, recreational and fit-for-life paddling.

- assist with the development of an innovative, digital, cloud based media platform showcasing and celebrating club successes and opportunities;
- as a member of the RMCC nationals team, assist in drafting a procedures manual outlining the framework to run a national paddling event;
- manage the boat house, including setting up and communicating paddling partners, and ensuring all equipment is available and in good repair for members;
- adapt and incorporate new health guidelines and recommendations into current program planning as they become available (ie sanitation of equipment, physical distancing while retrieving equipment);
- coordinate, execute and communicate, both in writing and verbally the clubs COVID-19 policies and procedures to members and participants;
- develop an inventory system that maintains accurate records of equipment use;
- actively participate in fixing and repairing equipment, learning skills from those in current position;
- assist with communication, hosting, and marketing, of all club programming through the club’s social media as directed by the National Paddling Championship Program Leader;
- assist in the delivery and evolution of innovative club paddling programming aimed at seniors, new Canadians and existing club members;

- develop an innovative digital cloud-based platform in conjunction with the national marathon canoe body to showcase the national paddling event;
- draft a procedure manual effectively communicating the framework to run a national paddling event;
- create an online cloud database of marathon canoe photos accessible by other to shared within Canoe Kayak Canada’s social media feed;
- lead a coaching committee, working and communicating with a national network of marathon coaches, to organize and manage the development of virtual coach education sessions targeting senior marathon paddlers;
- develop innovative, online, aesthetically inviting material to market national and provincial marathon paddling events;
- adapt and incorporate new health guidelines and recommendations into current program planning as they become available (ie sanitation of equipment, physical distancing while retrieving equipment);
- clearly articulating both in writing and verbally, oversee club equipment use by members;
- actively participate in fixing and repairing equipment, learning skills from those in current position;

Regina Marathon Canoe Club COVID-19 Update
Hello all paddlers!
Boathouse Orientations – New Members
If you are new to the club please contact me directly with your preferred dates and times to meet me for orientation to the boathouse. At our orientation you will be assigned a key, combinations to the lockers and general review of equipment and procedures.
I am available to meet Monday to Friday 9AM to 6PM and can also meet over lunch.
COVID-19 Policy and Procedures
Our board of directors are working out the final details of our COVID-19 Policies and Procedures and once completed will be posted on our website. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
Equipment
All members must wipe down all club equipment before and after use. Members must utilize their personal cleaning products until the club implements a permanent onsite cleaning system.
Equipment – C1s
Members are authorized to utilize our C1s, SUPs and Kayaks.
Equipment – C2s
Until further notice, members may have two or more people in the same canoe only if they reside from the same household.
We will provide further updates on mixed-household paddlers when our policies and procedures are released.
Paddling in Groups
Members are authorized to paddle in groups of C1s and C2s as long as the group size does not exceed 10 people and boats are able to keep a social distance of 6 feet while on the water or in-transit from boathouse to on-water.
PFDs (Personal Flotation Devices)
Members are asked to wear their own PFD’s. Club PFD’s are not available for use.
Programming
Formal programming is suspended until May 15th. We anticipate releasing our programming in late May and June utilizing our COVID-19 Policies and Procedures.
